Technical Writer

The Technical Writer conducts workforce performance system consulting through understanding performance process and procedures by documentation. Workforce performance systems include SumTotal Systems, Interwise, and Rocket Software.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and document client business processes and requirements related to the configuration and implementation of an enterprise-level web-based learning management system.
  • Work with the different business units to define business requirements for collaboration and solutions.
  • Develop and update HTML, Product & Training documentation, Visio diagramming.
  • Present to diverse audiences (e.g., management, customers, vendors, and technical staff).
  • Assist business and technical teams in determining business and technical processes.
  • Collaborate with Stranix and client project team members on the documentation of the system.
  • Conduct basic project management activities in both large and small team environments.
  • Work independently and remotely or as a member of a large complex project team.
  • Assist in facilitating effective system knowledge transfer to client staff.
  • Up to 25% travel required.

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, English or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2+ year in a technical writing/business analyst role or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a high technology environment.
  • Broad Knowledge of technical and business operations.
  • Highly independent and responsible.
  • Excellent client service skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with people quickly.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and communications skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Must possess valid US drivers license and drivers insurance.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience with enterprise web-based workforce performance systems such as SumTotal, Docent, Saba, Plateau, Interwise, Centra, or QuestionMark.
  • Proficiency with HTML, Visio, Dreamweaver and Microsoft Office Products.
